Valor Together’s 2025 Climb High Scholarship


We are excited to announce the 2025 Climb High Scholarship. Founded by Valor Together, the Climb High Scholarship uplifts the next generation of mental health professionals committed to serving children in Massachusetts. Designed for graduate students in the Boston area, this annual award supports those pursuing counseling degrees while completing unpaid or underpaid internships with children. In line with our mission to expand access to care, this year’s scholarship will prioritize students working with immigrant youth—helping ensure every child has the support they need to thrive.

Scholarship Overview
The Climb High Scholarship supports graduate students in the Boston area who are pursuing a counseling degree and are actively engaged in an unpaid or underpaid internship or fellowship working directly with children. By supporting students who demonstrate a passion for mental health advocacy, this scholarship will help cultivate a new generation of culturally-competent professionals who are equipped to meet the growing need for mental health support in the Greater Boston community. This year, preference for scholarship awards will support students in roles that disproportionately serve immigrant children in the Greater Boston area.

Award Amount: $3,000

  • Number of Awards: 2 students

  • Application Deadline: August 1, 2025

  • Notification Date: October, 1, 2025

  • Disbursement Date: Funds will be sent via check directly to the applicant within 30 days of the notification date.

  • Funding Use: Funding may be used directly for tuition or indirect expenses such as books. Additionally, funding may be used for general living expenses while completing the internship/fellowship including housing, transportation, and food.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate-level counseling program (e.g., Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, etc.)

  • Attending a university in the Greater Boston area

  • Engaged in an unpaid or underpaid internship or fellowship in the Greater Boston area working directly with children (ages 5–18), with preference given to students working with immigrant youth

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to mental health and community building

  • Be in good academic standing with a minimum graduate school GPA of 3.3
